For Immediate Release

Luke Chacko to Release Music

Single “King” and EP “Luke Chacko 12”

Arlington, Texas-July 16, 2018:  At age 11, Luke Chacko surprised Idina Menzel and her audience at the Verizon Theater in Grand Prairie with his voice—a video that was viewed over 45 million times. Today, he's set to stun his listeners again with his first studio project, an EP entitled Luke Chacko 12.

Luke Chacko is a 12-year-old musician from Arlington, Texas. After Idina Menzel invited Luke and other young audience members on stage to sing "Let It Go" in July 2017, his sudden internet fame landed him an appearance on The Ellen Show on Sept. 11, 2017. The appearance provided him a platform to shine a light on the effects of school bullying, which he had endured and ultimately overcome. His performances at several civic and charity events also have given him the opportunity to hear from other young people about their experiences.

The EP includes an original song “King” written by Luke that draws on his experience of being bullied, an issue that has the attention of people of all ages and has motivated young people to take action. The song’s message is about getting up after you’ve been knocked down and being free to be who you are.

Additionally, Luke recorded two covers. “Confetti” was written and originally recorded by Tori Kelly, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, producer and one of Luke's favorite artists. “Creep” was originally recorded by Radiohead and has enjoyed a recent popularity among young musicians for its haunting, powerful lyrics.

The single “King” will be released across all popular digital music platforms on July 20, 2018. A lyric video will also be released that same day on YouTube and Luke's social media. The EP Luke Chacko 12 will be released on July 27, 2018, and will be available for pre-order on July 20, 2018. A “King” music video is also forthcoming.

Luke's story and soon-to-be-released music are the kinds of things readers/listeners of any age are looking for. Please call or email to set up a time to speak with Luke before the release or after you've had a chance to hear his music. Luke has been interviewed by ABC News affiliate WFAA and was a guest on News 8 Midday.
